Nova 2.0.3

This update to Nova 2 addresses issues with errors thrown after turning post participants off and benchmarking pseudo-variables not working right because of the Template engine. In addition, we have updated the jQuery UI to version 1.8.18.

After spending several days tracking down the upload issue, we’ve identified it as a server issue either related to the latest release of PHP 5.2 or a specific setting. A fix is available on AnodyneXtras under the Nova 2 Utilities tab.

You can download the latest version of Nova 2 at the Nova site.

Nova 2.0.2

This update to Nova 2 addresses a wide range of minor issues found in the system. In particular, manifest display issues, errors thrown from some controllers, the milestone report displaying incorrectly in certain situations, orphaned data, the Who’s Online listing, and character bio image galleries were all addressed. In addition, we’ve removed the social interaction tools from the image modal pop-up and made some tweaks to post locking to address a few nagging issues.

We are aware of some users having issues with uploading PNG images and are currently looking in to the cause of this issue.

You can download the latest version of Nova 2 at the Nova site.

Nova 2

After a year of development and testing, we’re incredibly excited to make Nova 2 available to the world!

You thought that updating Nova was time-consuming and laborious. We listened, and now Nova 2 sports a brand-new file structure that makes updating as simple as deleting a folder, uploading a new copy, and running the update script in your browser.

You thought the built-in wiki had some limitations. We listened, and now Thresher has a new category selection UI, the ability to add categories when you’re creating/editing a page, improved search, a way to edit the content of core wiki pages, RSS feeds for new and updated pages, new UIs for viewing and managing wiki pages, and several bug fixes.

You were frustrated by updating a multi-author post only to have your changes wiped out because someone else was editing at the same time. We listened, and now Nova 2 included a smart post locking feature that makes sure those frustrations are a thing of the past.

You were frustrated about how difficult it was to add some of your own rich content to Nova. We listened, and now Nova allows you to use those previously disallowed HTML tags (like script, iframe, and embed) to push banner exchanges and YouTube videos to your pages without the hassle of creating new pages and digging in to PHP code.

There have been a massive number of changes and we can’t cover them all here, but check Nova 2 out for yourself and see all the improvements, bug fixes, and new features that have been added to the premier RPG management tool.

Go download it now!

The New Look and Feel

As some of you may have noticed, today we launched the new Anodyne branding across all of our sites and we’re incredibly excited for it to actually up and running.

The goal of this new look and feel was to be simpler all around. Over the last few years, the Anodyne branding has gotten more complex and busy. While it may have looked good at the time, it made navigating our sites a lot more complicated. This new design puts just about everything at your fingertips. On top of that, we wanted to make it clear up front (on all of the sites) exactly what the product was. It amazed us when we realized that information wasn’t front and center, so this new design (hopefully) addresses that.

Check out the new design across all of our sites (this site, the Nova site, AnodyneDocs, AnodyneXtras, and the forums) and let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, and the forums!
